Wrexham Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support Group's objective is to relieve people who are displaced by reason of hostilities, persecution, oppression, discrimination, natural disasters or other like causes, and their families and dependents, who are in conditions of need, hardship and distress. Its aim is to help you recognise and develop your positivity, strengths and skills. KIM provides a variety of social opportunities that aim to increase your confidence, self awareness and motivation.
An independent charity helping refugees and asylum seekers to rebuild their lives in Wales. The WRC has offices in Cardiff, Wrexham, Swansea and Newport.
Nasra Farah has been running a weekly pampering session based in WRASSG, where refugee and asylum seeker women can find companionship and understanding, and feel as special as they are.
People Tree Ltd, recognised by consumers and the fashion industry media as a pioneer in Fair Trade and environmentally sustainable fashion, has been selling Fair Trade fashion in the UK since 2001. The business was founded by Safia and James Minney to provide customers with desirable fashion, whilst working to improve the lives and environment of the artisans and farmers in developing countries who work to make the products. People Tree have kindly donated clothing for the WIWD fashion show.
The CAIA Park Environmental Group are passionate about sustainable travel, and run a bike project: they take in unwanted bicycles, refurbish them and send them back out into the community free of charge to reduce carbon emissions – and to encourage cycling amongst adults and children. They also run environmental awareness days, river monitoring and an allotment – all for the benefit of the local community!
